Break the Cycle

Break the Cycle is a Social Justice Network project which provides supported housing and community support to people who are released from prison into homelessness; and to evaluate the effect this support has on re-offending rates.

A Diocesan property has been made available to the project. Our Support Manager, Kelly Napier from CampaignKent, works with local HM Prisons to identify repeat offenders who are likely to be released into street homelessness.

The Social Justice Network works with local churches and community groups to provide a community connection for the tenants, and opportunities for them to work in and with the local community to build longer-term relationships.

A key element of this project is integrating house residents into the local community to build their self-confidence and improve their mental health and well-being. Campaign Kent provide the monitoring and evaluation of the project results.

If you can assist this project in any way, through giving time, skills or money, please contact Rev Dr Jonathan Arnold, Executive Director, The Social Justice Network: jarnold@diocant.org
