Vacancies in parishes and linked Christian organisations

Assistant Children’s Missioner, Church Army

Church Army is looking for someone who is energetic and supportive; has excellent organisational and administrative skills and has experience of working with children and sharing the gospel with children to be an Assistant Children’s Missioner. You will work to support the Children’s Missioner in Kent in their work in schools, churches and other events.
This exciting role is an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked with children before, perhaps in a voluntary role, to grow, learn new skills and enhance their vocational journey. The person appointed will need to be flexible in working arrangements as the activities are sessional and at various times of the day.

£13,650 per annum for 30 hours per week on a fixed term, 1 year contract.

For an informal discussion about the role and location, please do not hesitate to contact Graham Nunn, Children’s Missioner on 07736 303884

Part-time Children and Families Minister (CFM)

20 hours per week

St John’s Church, Swalecliffe with Chestfield

An exciting and rare opportunity.

We are a small traditional church with a long history, set within a well defined established community and part of the thriving Whitstable team of churches.

We have an average Sunday attendance of 35-45 adults, now with a regular fortnightly Brunch Club for children, Noisy Church for parents and toddlers, and monthly Café Church. One-off events (e.g. Christingle, Crib services, craft workshops) are well supported and we have very good links with our local Scout groups who attend regular parade services with their families in large numbers.

The post of CFM was created here in 2015 and has borne fruit beyond our expectations. The applicant will be expected to develop and build on what now exists while also being open to new opportunities to serve our local families. They will have the backing of a supportive congregation and priest, and the assistance of an established team of volunteers.

Formal qualifications are not essential, but the successful applicant would be expected to have relevant experience. Training and mentoring support available.
