On completion of the core modules you will be required to undertake a further refresher within 3 years.

Domestic Abuse S3 Safeguarding Training considers the effects of Domestic Abuse on children and young people, the reasons why people remain in abusive relationships and the outcomes of Domestic Homicide reviews. There is also a theological component to this module.
The national safeguarding training framework lists this as an essential module for anyone holding the Bishop’s Licence, Spiritual Accompaniers/directors, Pastoral visitors and safeguarding officers.

The C0 basic awareness safeguarding module is an online module which is available for everyone to complete in order to gain an understanding of key safeguarding issues and the church context.

The C2 Safeguarding Leadership Module is specifically aimed at leaders of children’s and adult activities, Churchwardens, PCC Safeguarding leads, Directors of Music, Bell Tower Captains, Organists, Choir leaders, home visitors and safeguarding coordinators. Read more »
The C3 safeguarding leadership training is for those who hold the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate, are Readers or Licenced Lay Ministers. Those new to the Diocese will will receive an invitation to a relevant session. Read more »
C5 safeguarding refresher training is suitable for all clergy, readers and people who hold the Bishop’s licence who completed their C3 training 3 years ago. Read more »
