This safeguarding training is for those who hold the Bishops License including PTO Clergy, Readers and Licenced Lay Ministers. Those new to the Diocese will on arrival will receive an invitation to a relevant session. If you have any questions please contact Karen Carolan-Evans on

The module is compliant with the National Church Safeguarding framework. On completion of this module you will be require to undertake a refresher within 3 years.

Safeguarding training for everyone: module C0

This online module is for anyone who would like to have a basic awareness of safeguarding and understand how the Church approaches safeguarding work. To access this module please go here and follow the instructions:

  1. Click ‘Online Courses’
  2. Click ‘Create new account’ to register as a new user and fill in your details.
  3. Check your email account for the registration email and click the link to confirm your registration.
  4. Return to the homepage and click ‘Online Courses’ again. (You may need to login using your registration details).
  5. Click the tab marked ‘Basic Awareness C0’.
  6. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the course online.
  7. At the end of the course, follow the instructions to print your certificate. You will receive an email confirming your course completion.


Canterbury Diocese Safeguarding Conference

Thanks to all of you who attended the annual Canterbury Diocese Safeguarding Conference on 26th November 2016. A presentation was given by Young Minds, the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. Also a workshop was led by Lesley Weaver on ‘Think U Know’ regarding issues relating to safeguarding and the internet. There was also an update on relevant information regarding Safeguarding and the new online DBS system, and an opportunity to network with colleagues and the safeguarding team.

The next Conference will take place in November 2017. Watch this space for a date.
