We are delighted to announce that Jen Tobin will be joining our team on 1 September 2023 as the new Lead Officer for Children and Young People’s Ministry. Jen is presently a teacher of Religious Education, with experience of being a pastoral and safeguarding lead, foster carer and a member of the youth ministry team at her church in Coxheath.

Jen is looking forward to contributing to the growth of faith and discipleship amongst children and young people in our diocese, enabling them ‘to experience and welcome the transformative love of Christ into their lives’. In transition from her current role, she will start part-time (3 days per week) and move to full-time in January 2024.

Jen said: 'I am very pleased to be joining the team in September. I have been a secondary school teacher for the past 15 years, specialising in Religious Studies and Sociology. During my time in teaching I have carried out all manner of roles, ranging from Head of Department to Deputy Head Pastoral. I am very much someone who will give most things a go and enjoy working with and developing ideas with others. I love working with young people, which means I have spent several years involved in things like the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Model United Nations as well as youth ministry. I firmly believe that young people thrive when they are reassured of their significance and contribution in the world as well as knowing the joy of God’s love for them.'
