Rector (0.5 Stipend plus House)
The Benefice of Holy Trinity, Ramsgate are seeking a part time Rector (0.5 stipend plus house). This is a parish with real potential. There is a solid and committed worshipping community in place, with a strong sense of identity, warmth and welcome. The PCC has a realistic view of what it values in worship, mission and community life and where it wants to see development. With the right parish priest in this mix the result could be significant growth and development.
The parish church is blessed with a well-established catholic liturgy and excellent music. The Sunday School is significant and bigger than many and led by committed volunteers. There are good links with uniformed organisations and the primary school which could be built on further.
The PCC has made a request, on the grounds of theological conviction, that arrangements be made for it in accordance with the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests. This post is, consequently, open to male priests only.
We are praying for a priest of The Society who will:
- hear God’s call to serve this vibrant and diverse coastal community
- confidently and joyfully celebrate the sacraments of the Church
- be a gifted pastor, communicator, and teacher of the Faith
- provide prayerful, visionary, and missional leadership for the parish
- lead us in developing further our evangelistic outreach and pastoral care
- nurture, support, and grow a diversity of lay ministries
- fully engage with, share and strengthen the wider life and ministry of our deanery and diocese
We offer:
- a beautiful church in a prominent location in the parish
- a rich catholic liturgical life and musical tradition
- a spacious four-bedroom vicarage
- good local schools and amenities
- a hospitable community
- a supportive deanery within the Diocese of Canterbury and wider Richborough family of parishes
