Giving Programmes
Running a Giving Programme is an excellent way to encourage generosity. This usually takes place over 2 or 3 weeks and is launched with an Opening Sunday to introduce the theme of Generosity and Generous Giving - you may like to invite your Generous Giving Advisor to preach at this service. A Giving Programme invites you to explore generosity through worship and to reflect prayerfully, individually and as a whole church, about further encouraging generosity in all that you do. Giving Programmes culminate in a time to give thanks with a Thanksgiving Sunday.
Our Generous Giving Advisor is able to guide you through the process of planning and facilitating your programme and is available for preaching.
Every Giving Programme will be different to best meet the needs of each parish and will be planned in collaboration with a small group from the church. Please contact the Generous Giving Adviser for more information.
Raise money at your weekly shop with easyfundraising
How your church can get a share of FREE funding
Thousands of churches across the UK are benefiting from extra funding, thanks to their congregation simply shopping online. To help make sure churches in our diocese don’t miss out, we’ve partnered with easyfundraising to give you a free, easy, and secure way to get your entire congregation raising funds at no extra cost, or effort.
More than 8,000 of the biggest retailers are standing by to donate to your church. The funding is completely unrestricted and raised each time a member of your congregation and wider community shop with them.
There’s no additional cost to anyone and it’s a completely secure and effective way of raising funds towards maintaining your building, introducing new activities or events for your community and buying resources. Whatever your church needs funding for this year and beyond.
How your church can start raising straight away
Over £64m has been raised for good causes and churches across the country so far, and we’d encourage all of our churches to register as soon as possible.
- Register your church for free here: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/diocese-of-canterbury
- Simply ask your congregation to join as supporters for free – they just need an email address to do so
- They simply shop online with their favourite retailers, including ebay, Tesco, Booking.com, Argos, M&S, and 8,000 others via the easyfundraising app or website.
- They’ll collect cashback donations for your church, courtesy of the retailer, with every purchase!
How our partnership benefits you
easyfundraising is the UK’s biggest cashback fundraising platform. As an official partner of ours, all our members have access to extensive support and resources to help you raise as much as possible – including a dedicated contact.
Becky from easyfundraising has been invaluable in helping many churches across the UK raise funds this way. If you need any further information or advice you can reach out to her at becky@easyfundraising.org.uk.
What do other churches think?
Lorraine, Church Finance Administrator says: ‘We would definitely recommend this to other churches because so much is bought online these days and this is a great way to raise funds without it costing extra. There is also no real effort required by the church and each quarter the sum of money raised is paid into your church bank account.’

Your church could also receive £500!
And what’s more, this month, eBay and easyfundraising have teamed up to launch the £5,000 Big Give. They will donate ten £500 micro grants this autumn – and churches are eligible.
Your church could receive these one of these grants simply by letting your congregation, clergy and community know that if they buy from eBay via the easyfundraising website or app during September, your church automatically gets a chance to receive £500 in extra funding!
