DIOCESAN SYNOD - Saturday 19 November 2022
Our Worldwide Church
Verana Holmes Building, Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent, CT1 1QU
The open session for our Diocesan Synod will begin at 9:30am, with registration and refreshments from 9am.
Over the summer, two hugely significant events happened for the worldwide church. The first was the Lambeth Conference and a few weeks later the World Council of Churches Assembly. In focusing, as we rightly do, on our parishes, we risk losing sight of the part we play in the global Christian faith community and understanding the challenges and opportunities there are as we listen to one another. The rare opportunity to reflect of these events in the same place will help us better understand what is going on in our world from a faith perspective.
More specifically, we will have a chance to understand what has been going on with our local links and how we might strengthen them and through them find joy and a deeper connection with the work of God with our sisters and brothers in Christ. We will also have a chance to share of our own parish experiences of engagement with the churches from elsewhere in the world.
