Safeguarding Trainer

The Diocese of Canterbury is seeking to appoint an experienced professional to join our Safeguarding team as Safeguarding Trainer.  The successful applicant will assist us to promote a safe church by continuing to develop our well-established training curriculum and to deliver this training throughout the Diocese and Canterbury Cathedral. 

If you

  • Have professional experience of safeguarding in the voluntary or statutory sector
  • Are experienced in delivering training packages and ensuring that they are of high quality and up to date standard in terms of legislation, policy and research
  • Are educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Are highly organised, able to work to deadlines and be resilient in a challenging environment

The Diocese of Canterbury is vibrant and growing with 231 parishes across Kent and works closely with Canterbury Cathedral to ensure we maintain a high standard of safeguarding practice and support. 

The role of the Safeguarding Trainer is to ensure that our training is of high quality, relevant and consistent to have the maximum impact on practice. 

Salary: Grade 7 circa £30,197 p.a.

Hours: Part Time 21 hours per week

The post will be subject to safer recruitment processes including an enhanced DBS check.
