#MondayMeet – Marianne Hambrook, Ministry Development Administrator

mariannehambrookAccording to the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator I tend towards extraversion. This doesn’t mean that I like being the centre of attention or am particularly loud. What it does mean is that I get my energy from being around people & from active involvement in a variety of events. In the past I have worked as a Jobcentre Advisor, Teaching Assistant & College Tutor, all very people orientated. I have worshipped at St Mary of Charity, Faversham for nearly 20 years where I was involved with junior church when my children were young.

Therefore, my current role as Ministry Development Administrator for the diocese is perfect. I am privileged to come into contact with a vast number & huge variety of people. Most of my work is to support Neville Emslie as Ministry Development Officer. This involves co-ordinating the Ministerial Development Review, organising & managing events to enrich, interest & develop all ministers, arranging CMD funding payments & most challenging of all, managing Neville’s diary.

This role also includes support to the Co-wardens of Readers, Nigel Collins & Donald Lawton, to organise the annual Reader Licensing & Celebration service, Reader Forum events & arrangements for the Reader training selection panel. I am Administrator to Licensed Ministries, arranging meetings & taking notes for our Framework meetings, not dry stuffy affairs but lively discussions regarding the wonderfully diverse & tireless work of all ministers in our diocese.

So, what motivates me? It’s simple, for me it really is all about the people.
