Lunchtime briefings for Deanery Officers with the Diocesan Secretary
2015 is the year in which the policy making body of the Church of England – the General Synod is re-elected. This comes at a time when there are important decisions to be made that affect the future of the Church of England and all of us in our common life within it. It is important therefore that we elect good quality candidates!
Canterbury Diocese has the opportunity this time to elect 3 clergy and 3 laity representatives. The electorate as always is comprised of those clergy and laity that serve on individual deanery synods. It is therefore important that we encourage people to stand for these elections and ensure that all those entitled to vote do so in an informed way.
This meeting is intended for Deanery Secretaries, Area Deans and Lay Chairs and is expected to last 1 hour. A sandwich lunch will be provided as we appreciate that some officers may be coming in their lunch break. Please book your place below.
It is important that the Synod Secretary or a suitable representative attends for a briefing of the process. It is not necessary to attend the meeting in your own archdeaconry so please feel free to attend the meeting that is most convenient to you.
Bookings are closed for this event.
