The purpose of the workshops and supervision training group is to help build ministers’ understanding of conflict so that they may feel more confident and competent within their ministries. The sessions will develop your self-awareness and skills through:
- Looking at the scriptures to understand the significance of conflict in building the kingdom of God
- Valuing the dynamics of conflict within the growth of communities
- Identifying current individual patterns of responding to conflict
- Considering strategies and tools for achieving better outcomes when engaging with conflictThe resources we will use come primarily from Bridgebuilders; http://www.bbministries.org.uk/training/training
The workshops will require participants to engage with the scriptures, work on case studies, use psychometric tests, and to work with others on issues of congregational leadership. The aim of the workshops is not to provide ‘therapy’ or to be a place to focus on individual’s conflict issues. The four Action Learning Set sessions will be time for addressing participating minister’s issues and how they can find support.
