Date(s) - Friday, 7th July, 2017
9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Seasalter Christian Centre
The course comprises two workshops on Friday 7th July and Friday 15th September at Seasalter Christian Centre, 49 Faversham Rd, Seasalter, Whitstable CT5 4AX.
It utilises authorised material from the Bridgebuilders’ programme as well as case studies, interactive material, followed by four Action Learning Sets. Two such courses have now been delivered in the diocese and positive feedback has indicated clear benefits to clergy in their contexts.
This course is open to both lay and ordained people; all those working as part of a ministry or leadership team.
Peter Ingrams and Steve Coneys lead the programme ; each workshop will run from 9.30am to 4pm. Please note numbers are limited, and if you are interested you will need to sign up to both sessions.
The purpose of the workshops and supervision training group is to build an understanding of conflict, helping to develop confidence and competence in ministry. The sessions will develop self-awareness and skills through:
- Looking at the scriptures to understand the significance of conflict in building the Kingdom of God
- Valuing the dynamics of conflict within the growth of communities
- Identifying current individual patterns of responding to conflict
- Considering strategies and tools for achieving better outcomes when engaging with conflict.
The workshops will require participants to engage with the scriptures, work on case studies, use psychometric tests, and to work with others on issues of congregational leadership. The aim of the workshops is not to provide ‘therapy’ or to be a place to focus on individual’s conflict issues. The four Action Learning Set sessions will be time for addressing issues and how people can find support.
The resources used come primarily from Bridgebuilders; http://www.bbministries.org.uk/training/training
Parking is available, please bring your own lunch, tea & coffee provided.
