Top-Up Workshop: Facing our prejudice: Children and Young People in Church

Date(s) - Tuesday, 9th May, 2017
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Kennington, St. Mary's church hall

This session will be led by Murray Wilkinson, the diocesan Children and Young People’s (ChYP’s) Ministry Adviser. Murray wrote:

What if the church’s attitude toward children and young people was described as ageist – a prejudice based on someone’s age? Do children and young people get a raw deal simply because of their age? More than just a shamelessly provocative title, I am finding it increasingly helpful to think about the culture change needed on the path to becoming a Whole Church (a church of all ages) along the same lines as the race issues facing most western cultures. Yes, I am leaning on my upbringing as a privileged white South African, but who better to notice inequality and injustice? Come along to join the conversation – you don’t need to agree, but you will be asked to think about it!
