In the lead-up to the 100th anniversary of the Armistice and the local Remembrance Sunday Services, the Lord-Lieutenant has arranged a countywide Centenary Drumhead Service (as on the battlefield) and Parade at the Spitfire Ground, with gates open from 12.30pm.  The 3rd Battalion, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment and their Band will lead the Parade, which will also include a separate Cadet parade.  The Shorncliffe and Brompton Military Wives Choirs and the Salvation Army Band will give performances prior to the Service commencing at 3pm.  There will be an opportunity for guests to attend one of two Army Engagement Group Presentations and there will be a number of military stands around the site for people to visit.  The Dean of Canterbury will take the Service and both boys’ and lay clerks’ choir and the girls’ choir, together with the choir of Rochester Cathedral will take part in the Service.   The afternoon will close with a parachute display given by the Flying Tigers.  Everyone is welcome to attend and tickets (free of charge) can be applied for at www.kentcentenary.co.uk or ring 03000 416259.
