Date(s) - Wednesday, 13th January, 2016
9:30 am - 2:00 pm
Canterbury, St. Paul's
The bishop invites all those who hear confessions in the diocese to attend a day on the Discipline of Confession.
There has been ongoing discussion in the Church about the seal of confessional in the light of current safeguarding guidelines. It is crucial that the ministry of the confessional is exercised both in the traditional sphere of confidentiality and in the context of legal obligations and guidelines that relate to safe practice.
The day will be designed:
- To help support and inform the recently ordained in this area
- To work with those who regularly offer the discipline of confession.
It is the bishop’s wish that all those who hear confessions attend the day so we are all brought up to date with best practice and current guidelines.
Arrival/coffee from 9am.
Lunch will be provided for participants before closing prayers.
Bookings are closed for this event.
