Date(s) - Saturday, 7th May, 2016
10:00 am - 3:30 pm
We have had to make the decision to POSTPONE the Learn to Listen Day planned for 7 May due to very low bookings.
If you were interested in coming please email Sarah Donlan so that we can let you know as soon as we have a new date – we are planning to try a weekday and evening combination so please keep an eye on the e-bulletin and the ChYP’s Ministry FaceBook page for new details as soon as we have them.
Many of our parishes have expressed a concern that children and young people are often absent from their churches. The question of how to regain the youth or children’s ministry that was once enjoyed is often asked of our Diocesan officers. It is clear that we cannot know how to move forward unless we are able to ask that question of those we wish to serve; to have a conversation. To help us learn how to listen to our children and young people, the diocese is hosting a Learn to Listen training day on May 7th at Singleton Village Hall, Ashford.
It will be a day to learn from Tony Cook the author of the Learn to Listen toolkit, who was very well received at the Diocesan Synod in March 2015. Tony hopes to help everyone who comes to feel confident in both running the Learn to Listen toolkit but also in understanding why it is so important!
We hope to inspire everyone who comes to take the toolkit and put it to use in their communities to begin a conversation with our children and young people about God and faith.
The cost for the day is £5 per person which includes a fish and chip lunch. Vegetarian options will be available – please specify your dietary requirements below.
