Environment Forum

Date(s) - Wednesday, 20th April, 2016
1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

After our first successful Environment Forum in 2015, the Diocese is hosting a second forum which will also see the launch of Eco Church.

The Environment Forum will be held on Wednesday 20th April from 1.30 – 4.30pm at Willesborough Church in Ashford and will offer help and advice on environmental issues and how to achieve results without spending a fortune.

Nick Lee Evans from Lee Evans Partnership will be talking about his experience in various aspects of church environmental features. He is currently working with Kingston University on a Government backed Technology Strategy Board research project and he has recently been part of an EU working party which looked at best practice in Europe to make historic buildings more sustainable.

Dr Ruth Valerio, Theology Director of A Rocha UK, is currently accompanying the Diocese through the development of the environment strategy and will provide inspiration and help on environment matters as well as officially launching the Eco Church project for the Diocese.

The meeting will be held in a particularly interesting venue; Willesborough Church has recently received funding towards converting the church to create new community facilities which features new flooring and underfloor heating, energy efficient lighting, a fitted kitchen, a meeting room, toilets including disabled facilities and baby changing facilities. Afternoon refreshments will be provided by the volunteers at Willesborough.

Places are strictly limited to 50 so be sure to register your interest as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you there.

This event is fully booked.
