The Digital Natives are coming!

Every technological advance brings with it a certain amount of fear and anxiety. This is clearly the case when it comes to our increased interaction in an online world. It also seems true that younger generations struggle to understand the anxiety expressed by their parents and leaders. How then do we navigate the minefield of needing to safeguard our young people while still making good use of the opportunities our digital age offers.

Led by Murray Wilkinson, this training session looks at the online world and considers the ways we can use our existing safeguarding principles to make online spaces as safe as possible. Through the session we will consider the advantages and risks involved in using the internet and social media, and the ways that we can empower and educate those in our care, and ourselves, so that we can all use the internet in a safe and smart way.

There are two e-safety training courses running in Autumn 2015, this one, in the North of the diocese in Ospringe deanery (Lynstead Church), and another in the South, in Elham deanery (Lyminge Church) on the 19th September. Do book onto whichever is more convenient for you.

Light refreshments will be provided.
