Contemplative Space Day – Advent
You wake in my heart
Letting go to the work of God within
Drawing on the writings of the spiritual guide John of the Cross and the poetry of George Herbert, we will explore how we recognise and cooperate with the work of God within.
In our longing for we know not what, we meet a God who longs for us; as we seek, so we become aware of how God has always sought us; as God awakes within, so we wake into the fullness of our humanity.
The day will be led by Christopher Chapman, an experienced retreat leader and spiritual director. Until recently he was the Spirituality Adviser for the Diocese of Southwark. He is the author of Seeing in the Dark, published by Canterbury Press in 2013
