This years’ churchwardens’ Conference continues with the diocesan focus of ‘Changed Lives – Changing Lives’.
Again you will have the opportunity to attend two workshops (from a choice of four) connected to different aspects of the varied role of Churchwarden. The workshop themes were the most popular when churchwardens were asked in the Articles of Enquiry.
We will endeavour to allocate your first two choices. Again there will be ample opportunities for discussion with diocesan officers and fellow churchwardens.
Faculty procedures- the latest! – Diocesan officers
Faculty applications are increasingly important for churches seeking to do repairs or do new projects. This workshop will provide information and answer some of the questions you might have.’
Churchwardens’ Leadership Today – Finding your Way – led by a Diocesan Officer and a churchwarden
Churchwardens will have different approaches to leadership and how to exercise this depending upon their church context. This workshop will give some examples of leadership styles and priorities in church communities, and help participants to identify aspects of leadership they may need to develop.
Diocesan Strategy Implications for your Local Church – Led by Archdeacon Jo The diocesan strategy might seem unrelated to local churches. It is actually crucial to the way we sense God is wanting to renew and grow the church. This workshop will help to understand and apply some of the key features of the strategy as a vital resource to local churches.
