Approaches to Parish administration – Ruth Jones
What is the role of a Church Administrator – particularly in the wider admin team and in relation to the incumbent? Each church, its incumbent and churchwarden has different ways of approaching administration which vary according to local needs, the skills of the individual and job description. We’ll explore all this plus the pastoral aspects of admin, and where to take your questions.
Beyond the Sunday Service: Developing your community witness – Kon Apokis & Keith Berry
The gathering of Christians each Sunday is pivotal to our life together. However, in addition to the Babylonian captivity of Sunday services there are other practical services to offer to our communities! We will discuss ways to increase community footprint and mission, including utilising our buildings, forming partnerships, meeting community needs and sourcing funds to make it happen.
Children and young people – do you really want them in your church? – Murray Wilkinson
Are we willing to face our own honest response to this question? Only a few brave souls would openly answer ‘no’. This seminar gives us space to explore where younger generations fit in our concept of ‘church’. How can we begin to create intergenerational churches where children and young people are an integral part of the worshipping community?
Funding our churches – stewardship, fundraising and how to tell the difference – Liz Mullins
This seminar will explore what motivates people to give, and how we can encourage them to give to our churches. We will look at funding the everyday running costs of our churches, and also funding for capital projects. Bring your questions as we consider different ways to approach this important issue.
Helping to build good teams – Neville Emslie
A good team feels great and does great work, and usually takes time to build. What are the ways in which we can make better teams out of the people we work with, whether we are the leader or not? What can you do to help make a difference?
Mission ideas for small churches – Kerry Thorpe
Come and explore the multi-faceted world of Mission possibilities (including being pastoral, administrative and liturgical with a Missional edge.) This seminar will enable you to tell your stories and listen to the experiences of others – you may be surprised!
