What Leads to a Flourishing Community and What Prevents a Community from Flourishing?
An opportunity to think about the churches place in the community and how that relationship can be impacted from the past.
Guest Speaker: Rev Dr Russ Parker
Director of Healing Wounded Churches Previously Director of Acorn Christian Healing Centre.
Rev Dr Russ Parker was Director of the Acorn Christian Healing Foundation from 1995-2013 during which time he taught, wrote and developed training materials. He was also Acorn’s International Ambassador responsible for developing partnerships on listening and reconciliation in 12 nations ranging from Rwanda, Burundi, Hong Kong and the United States.
Russ is now Director of Healing Wounded Churches which exists to help churches resolve and heal their legacies of unhealed stories and move forward in a renewed ability to flourish as God intends. He travels extensively around the UK and abroad, lecturing and teaching in issues connected with Christian Healing and Healthcare, Reconciliation and Church Transformation.
He is co-founder of the Community of Aidan and Hilda, a founder member of the Fellowship of Christ the Healer (resources leaders of residential healing and healthcare initiatives) and co-founder of Whole Person Healthcare Network (an initiative to support Christian healthcare professionals within the NHS).
Arrival/ coffee from 9.30am. Entry by donation. Please bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee provided.
