This will be our 6th consecutive chilli festival, believed to be a unique church event.
Nearly 70 varieties of peppers will be displayed in the church, some generously grown to an exceptional standard, by the gardeners of Belmont House, and hundreds more by long time amateur grower Julian Fountain of Sheldwich. All these chillies are available for sale,in aid of Badlesmere and Leaveland churches.
We are hosting a second junior chilli growing contest.
Other attractions include a chilli quiz, and a range of collector’s hot sauces for the brave to sample!
The tombola includes chilli related prizes.Naturally, tea and homemade cakes are available.
Decorations include large banners, painted by award winning artist Cherryl Fountain, depicting colourful Turkish court characters from the 17th century, as observed by Swedish Statesman to Constantinople, Claes Ralamb. Turkey being among the world’s largest chilli producers.
