Richard Farrant (Canterbury)
I am a member of the BACP and am qualified as an integrative counsellor. My approach is founded on the core values of Humanistic Therapy; my integrative training allows me to draw from different theories of counselling, and to use specific techniques if and when they are helpful to the counselling process.
I have a private practice, as well as being part of a community counselling service and working in a school with teenagers. My work covers a wide range of issues including bereavement and loss, abuse, relationship difficulties, addictions and destructive patterns of behaviour. I am particularly interested in working with men who struggle to break out of unhelpful recurring behaviour patterns, or who find it difficult to talk about feelings and experiences which affect their lives and the relationships around them. I am on the leadership team of a small community church, and have spent many years in church leadership and pastoral work.
