    Advance Notice : Visitations 2010

    Episcopal Visitation by Bishop Trevor
    Wednesday 12 May 2010, 7.30pm.
    Churchwardens will receive an email letter with advance notice of the Visitations for 2010. The visitations, which include the formal admission of churchwardens, are going to be an Episcopal Visitation by Bishop Trevor. This will involve one special event for the whole diocese with the churchwardens and others from both Archdeaconries invited to join Bishop Trevor in Canterbury Cathedral on the evening of Wednesday 12 May at 7.30pm.
    Nearer the time each churchwarden will receive three tickets to enable them to invite two other people to accompany them to the Visitation. Please note the new date and pass on to newly elected colleagues after the APCM With many lay officers beginning a new year of ministry, this special evening of worship and prayer will provide an opportunity to hear from Bishop Trevor as well as socialize afterwards.


    Second Ecumenical Kirchentag

    Munich, 12 - 16 May 2010
    Come and join 150,000 people in Munich, gathering next May for the second Ecumenical Kirchentag, planned jointly by the Protestant and Catholic Churches in Germany. Kirchentag means Church Congress, and is one of the most significant Christian events in Europe. It's been described as "a mixture of an University summer school, a Bible convention, Taizé, a synod meeting, the Edinburgh Festival, a brass band festival for 500 bands, an Ideal Homes exhibition and a cup final – all rolled into one and all at the same time."
    Revd. Robin Blount will be organising a group from south-east England, covering registration and accommodation but not travel. The cost will be around £70 plus travel and some meals.
