Rural Practitioners Group - "An oasis from Parish life"   go to top of page
In its fifth year, the next Rural Practitioners Group meeting is scheduled for Thursday 7 April 2011. This will be a short meeting, where there will be a discussion on "tools for rural ministry".
We will be starting at 10.30am, lunching in the local pub and finished by 2.00pm
The Rural Practitioners Group is open to anyone who has an interest, or seeks to further their experience of rural ministry by sharing knowledge and practice.

Kent God's Acre Project Churchyard Awards 2011   go to top of page
The Kent God' s Acre Project has again sponsored the Wildlife Churchyard award which is one category of the Kent Wildlife Trust Gardening Awards. There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze awards made for the best wildlife churchyard in Kent. This has been sponsored by the Kent God's Acre Project.
New categories of Churchyard award for 2011 will be for community participation, and for Churchyard interpretation (to include historical research). The closing date is 30 June 2011

This FREE event will be held at The Folkestone Academy, Folkestone
The day will start with an opening address at 9.30am. This will be followed by a programme of seminars. There will be an exhibition area where you will have a chance to meet funders and seek funding advice.
Speakers include: BIG Lottery, KCC Community Engagement Managers, CCWorks, Reeves, Charity Bank, Santander Foundation, Esmee Fairbairn and many more.

Kent Heritage Trees Project - Launch Events   go to top of page
Kent Heritage Trees Project has received funding to will help to promote, protect and conserve heritage trees within Kent and we are looking for volunteers of all ages, community groups, organisations and schools to become involved with this project. The Launch events are FREE and will take place from 10.30am - 3.30pm on:

  • Tuesday 14 June 2011 - Canterbury
  • Sunday 10 July 2011 - Tonbridge

    The Phillips Fund   go to top of page
    The aim of The Phillips Fund is to protect, conserve and enhance the use and character of Kent's rural landscape and its communities. The Fund supports charities, voluntary groups and community organisations using volunteers to deliver small but beneficial conservation and environmental projects to rural communities in Kent.

      The kind of activities that might be supported:
    • Planting of trees and hedging
    • Regeneration of hedgerows or village ponds
    • Creation of wildflower meadows, new native woodlands
    • Restoration of local habitats
    Applications are invited for grants of between £250 and £2,000. Grants will be awarded in April and October 2011.
