Thelma Wrathall, Reader Emeritus, has died. She was first licensed as a Reader in the Diocese of St. Albans in 1978 where she served in Hemel Hempstead. She transferred to Canterbury in 1987 and continued to serve in Ash until 2009 when she became Reader Emeritus. She was 82 and is survived by her husband Peter.

The Reverend Brian Phillip Sharp retires as Vicar of Margate, St John the Baptist and Priest in Charge of Margate, All Saints, Westbrook with effect from 31.07.13

The Reverend Simon David Rowlands, in addition to him being appointed Priest in Charge of Faversham, St Mary of Charity, will also be licensed as Assistant Curate of i) The Brents and Davington with Oare & Luddenham and ii) Eastling with Ospringe and Stalisfield with Otterden with effect from 12.02.13. This forms part of the on-going re-shaping of Ospringe Deanery.

Tessa Till, wife of the late Very Reverend Michael Till (former Archdeacon of Canterbury), died at home on 20th January 2013. Her funeral will be held at Winchester Cathedral, 1st February at 2.30pm. Donations to L'Arche ODF, Level 1 Sugar Bond, 2 Anderson Place, Edinburgh EH6 5NP

The Reverend Charles Horace Sinclair passed away in the William Harvey Hospital on Thursday 10.01.13. The funeral takes place on 29.01.13.

The Reverend John George Knell died on 23.12.12. The funeral will be at Minster Abbey at 12.30 on Wednesday 16.01.13 followed by interment in Sheppey Cemetery.

The Reverend Nicholas Charles Papadopulos, Vicar of St Peter’s Eaton Square in the Diocese of London, has been appointed as Canon Treasurer of Canterbury Cathedral and Director of Initial Ministerial Education (IME 4-7) (Diocese of Canterbury). He will be installed and take up his new responsibilities as a Residentiary Canon and Director of IME on Sunday, 10.03.13.

The Reverend Paul Ronald Ratcliff, Curate of Canterbury St Martin and St Paul, has been appointed Priest in Charge of Chilham with Challock and Molash. Pastoral reorganisation is under way to unite the benefices of Chilham, Challock and Molash with Crundale and Godmersham. It is the intention that the Reverend Paul Ratcliff will be presented as the first Incumbent for the new united Benefice, to be named the Benefice of King’s Wood, when the scheme is completed.
