Year six pupils at Bapchild and Tonge CofE Primary School presented with Bibles by Bishop of Dover

Bishop Trevor presenting a Bible to Nicola (yr6) at Bapchild church The Bishop of Dover, the Right Reverend Trevor Willmott presented Bibles to year six pupils at Bapchild and Tonge Church of England School at their leavers' service on Wednesday (July 21st). The service, which was held at Bapchild St Laurence Church, was attended by the teachers and parents of the eleven year olds who will be moving to new secondary schools in September.

The service started with every child in year six sharing their memories from their time at school, which included references to a trip to the Isle of Wight, swimming lessons, a teddy bear's picnic and school plays. Head Teacher, Mrs Teresa Homan then praised the children for the contribution they made to the school, saying that she would miss them all.

After leading the children and parents in prayer, Bishop Trevor addressed the children, telling them much he had enjoyed hearing their memories. The Bishop said: "Your memories all have one thing in common - friendship. As you go on to your new schools I hope you will take two things. One is that experience of friendship; someone caring for you and you caring for them. The other thing I hope you take with you as you read your Bible is the knowledge that God loves you."

The Bishop presented a Bible to every child before closing the service with a blessing.
