Pupils from St Peterís Church of England Primary School observed Ash Wednesday with a special service in St Peterís Church, followed by the symbolic burning of lists of sins in the playground.

The morning session is an 'open forum' looking at the theme of working with change and developing lay ministry (visitor spaces are limited, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org). Women in the Episcopacy will be discussed in the afternoon session.
The Diocese has now formally signed its partnership with the Church Urban Fund (CUF), creating a new joint venture called Together Canterbury. The aim is to help individual churches to achieve greater and more sustainable impact on tackling poverty in their community by providing long-term support for Christians working in often difficult circumstances. Revd Dr Kon Apokis and Mr Keith Berry, the new Together Canterbury Officers, will be commissioned on 27 March in the Eastern Crypt at 2pm.
Easter Monday Youth Pilgrimage 2014
E-packs for individuals and groups participating in the Easter Monday Youth Pilgrimage (theme: >words) are now available online here. This year pilgrims will stop at 11.15am for coordinated reflection and prayers and members from churches across the Diocese are invited to join in with these prayers, wherever they are.
Episcopal Visitations for Churchwardens

Community banks in churches
Following the opening of Kent's first community bank to be held in a church last month, advice and support is being offered to parishes wishing to form similar partnerships. Read more.
On behalf of the Diocese, the Communities and Partnerships Framework has produced a booklet 'Commemorating the Centenary of the First World War - How you can be involved' to help resource parishes with their WW1 commemorations.
Church Growth Research
New research, published at the Faith in Research Conference in January, has found churches showing signs of growth across the country in a variety of areas of church life. See the research conclusions here and read Bishop Trevor's letter to parishes here.
Schools and clergy invited to get cracking
This year's Kent is Delicious Competition is now open to all primary schools in Kent. The theme is 'breakfast'. Schools are invited to create one breakfast recipe which includes locally grown ingredients. Clergy chefs are also invited to enter in the Clergy Kent is Delicious competition. More information.
Update from the Bishop's in Women's Ministry
Revd Sheila Cox, Bishop's Adviser in Women's Ministry, has written to the Diocese with an update, including information on the Synodical processes in place to consecrate women as Bishops, support in Canterbury Diocese for women priests and notification of a service which will celebrate the 20th anniversary of ordained womenís ministry, which takes place in Canterbury Cathedral at 11am on Saturday May 10th 2014.
