    General Synod – Diocesan Elections
    Nominations for clergy and lay Diocesan representatives for General Synod must be received by September 3rd. Hustings will be held late in September and the closing date for voting papers is October 8th.

    Hundreds of people across Kent will get on their bikes or put on their walking shoes to raise funds for churches and chapels in the area on Saturday September 11th.

    Four new Readers licensed
    On Sunday four new Readers were admitted and licensed by Bishop Trevor at a special service in the Cathedral.

    Synod vote for work to continue on Diocesan
    re-structure

    During the July Synod meeting, members voted unanimously for work to continue on the proposed Diocesan re-structure, outlined in Bishop Trevor’s Pastoral Letter of June 28th (click here to view letter – www.canterburydiocese.org/bishoptrevor/letters/pastoralletter28june2010.htm

    Fourteen new curates ordained

    Fourteen new curates ordained on July 3rd 2010
    Seven men and seven women including a landscape planning officer, an accountant, a hairdresser and a grandmother became new Church of England curates at a special ordination service in Canterbury Cathedral on Saturday 3 July. Ten others were ordained priest in services around the Diocese on Sunday 4 July. press release
