Rain Tax finally abolished!
The controversial and punitive rain tax that Ofwat and some water companies have imposed on charitable, community and faith groups has finally been abolished by the passing in Parliament earlier this month.
The tax tried to charge variable amounts for surface water drainage dependent on the size of the building's area but following a two-year national campaign led by the Church of England, concessionary charges can now be introduced by water companies for these groups. Thank you to all you who added your names to the Downing Street petition last year.
