The 5 Marks of Mission
There is no such thing as 'world mission'
All mission is local and all mission is global
The Anglican Consultative Council has identified 5 'Marks' of mission, which CWAG believes should characterise every 'church', local, national, denominational and global.
The ACC Five Marks of Mission are:
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom.
- To teach, baptise and nurture new believers.
- To respond to human need by loving service.
- To seek to transform the unjust structures of society.
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and
sustain and renew the life of the earth.
Although each local context is different, these 5 'marks' could easily form the basis of a comprehensive parish or deanery mission plan.
And all the hard work's already been done!
Let us know if we can help you turn this world-wide statement of what mission is all about into a local reality.
